The Rizzaneze river in Corsica is a world classic for whitewater kayaking. A dam project has recently been approved by the local authorities, but there is still a chance to save this treasure: demonstrate deciders that the river is used by MANY kayers, whose presence every season is a real plus for the local economy, whereas the dam is a total economic nonsense (in use only two months a year) and an environmental catastophy. In order to bring their help to the different actions underway and in collaboration with all the groups and associations fighting this cause for years, World class Photographer Raph Thiebaut and kayaking magazines Publishers Philippe and Joel Doux (Kayak Session/Canoe Kayak Mag france/Paddle World), propose a simple action: gather as many kayakers as possible on April 14/15th 2007 on the Rizzaneze river. If you already came to Corsica, or always wanted to tackle its incredible waters, please help us to spread the word around you about this international rendez vous. A good action + incredible boating= April 14/15th Paddlers of all levels welcome! (see www.eauxvives.org/rizzanese for an historic of the fight against the dam) Yes, today again, you can change the world with your own two blades!
